The Abandoned World 197
VDBMoto T-1
Being blue-collar means more than just the amount on your paycheck. It’s about viewing with an eye towards durability, function, and inherent beauty. Art that is beautiful is nice, but art that is also functional is even better. The ‘newness’ of something is not really on our radar, but it’s quality and utility are. Derick Van den Bussche (hence VDBMoto) created this nice Triumph scrambler, and I believe it fits the blue-collar ethos perfectly, being both beautiful and purposeful.
See that thing sitting on the side of the pipes. That’s called a guard, and it’s meant to prevent you scorching your leg on the exhaust pipes. Take note builders, if you’re going to make a scrambler, this is NOT optional. Having proper fenders is nice, too, and about the only aspect that is a slave to fashion is the headlight, with the yellow tint (which always looks good IMHO) and the tape (not loved by me). The seat looks useful, comfortable, and has enough room to mount a tailbag behind you.
What sets this bike apart from a lot out there is the functionality. She’s meant to be ridden, day in and day out, not just to the latest custom motorcycle show!

CRD #25
It’s been done quite often, turning an off-road/ dual-purpose motorcycle into a street machine, but rarely are the results satisfactory in my opinion. Usually the dirt-bike DNA comes out strong, and the style conflicts too much. Cafe Racer Dreams, on the other hand, shows us how it’s done right! CRD is also masters at color choice, and use combinations that most couldn’t make work. Really, a pale green with khaki frame, who else does that? Painting the forks black was the perfect way to disguise their off-road roots, and my hat’s off to CRD for a spectacular build!

BMW R75/5 By MotoCafé
While MotoCafĂ© seems to be defunct, their website being just a landing page, they mad a very clean BMW cafe. While it’s certainly not groundbreaking by any means, it’s a very solid build. Sometimes, simple is all you need, and this one illustrates that magnificently!

Heiwa Lizard Tail
When you combine a classic British engine with the skill of Heiwa motorcycles, you’re bound to create some magic. This blue bombshell just oozes cool, and gets me all twitterpated! How could you not love this thing?

BMW R100/7 Cafe Racer By Kingston Custom
Light and lithe would be how I describe this gem from Kingston Custom. Rarely do you see such an elemental BMW, stripped of just about everything and so svelte. It almost looks like there’s no electric wires anywhere, and has the feel of a turn-of-the-century motorcycle. I love it!
