Macco Motors Monty

First off, I owe an apology to Tito and Jose from Macco Motors.  On May 16th they sent me an email about their newest creation, a customized Montesa enduro called “Monty”.  Before I could get a blog posted I became sick, and have just now gotten back on track with the blogging.  Most things I post days, weeks, or even months ahead, but the write-ups on custom bikes is usually only two to four days ahead, and when someone emails me about their build I move it to the front of the line if possible.  That didn’t happen this time, and I’m sorry.  I ask people to submit their builds, and they should expect a prompt response from me.  I will do better in the future.
Now, on to Monty.  Montesa is not a brand that I’m very familiar with, though my dirt bike-less background doesn’t help any.  Here’s a shot of a stock Montesa Enduro 75L, though this is not the bike Tito and Jose started with.  They said it was in a much poorer state, and hadn’t run for years.

Part of my basic philosophy, going back to when I was a little kid, is that machines all have personalities, and don’t deserve to be left to rust away.  I love it when people restore and/or modify things like a little Montesa 75 that most would just a soon throw away.  Monty is not a big bike if you measure by engine displacement, but to her owner, she’s all that and a bag of potato chips.  Congratulations to Macco Motors for taking the time to treat this little lady with all the love and care that all their builds receive!  My three year old inner self is pleased as all get out!
